Become An All Kids Application Agent

Community-based organizations, including faith-based organizations, day care centers, local governments, and unions; medical providers of any kind in good standing with Healthcare and Family Services (HFS); school districts; and licensed insurance agents will be permitted to enroll as an All Kids Application Agent (AKAA). Individuals other than medical providers and licensed insurance agents will not be permitted to enroll. State agencies will not be enrolled as AKAAs.

As an AKAA, you will get reports on results of applications submitted and ongoing updates on the application process.

Most AKAAs are eligible to receive Technical Assistance Payments (TAP). A TAP is issued for each completed application that meets the department’s criteria and results in new coverage.

An entity seeking to become an AKAA must enter into a standard written agreement with HFS that stipulates the qualifications and responsibilities of AKAAs. Once the agreement is executed by the organization and HFS, AKAA staff or volunteers must attend training on how to assist families to complete All Kids/FamilyCare applications.

Entities seeking to become AKAAs must:

  • Write to All Kids at the address below on business letterhead requesting to become an AKAA.
  • Include a brief description of the entity’s business and the services they provide.
  • Also include a brief description of how the entity comes in contact with families that may be eligible for All Kids and FamilyCare, OR send a brochure describing the entity’s work.
  • State whether they are an insurance agent.

Requests may be faxed to 217-557-7165, or mailed to:

P.O. Box 19122
Springfield, IL 62794

All Kids will review each request to determine whether the entity qualifies as an AKAA. HFS will send an enrollment packet to each entity accepted for enrollment. This packet includes instructions, a participation agreement and training information.

Questions about becoming an AKAA should be directed to 217-557-9315.
